Withernsea is a small seaside town and has two schools on one campus - The High School and Primary School. Withernsea Primary School has approximately 500 pupils. The school opened in September 2010, previously being seperate Infant and Junior Schools. Based on one site, the school has a North and South Building.
The South Building welcomes visitors and parents with a main reception area and houses the school's Foundation Stage Unit (Nursery and Reception) and also Year 1. The building also provides several specialist facilities such as purpose designed Music, Food Technology and Community Rooms, a Library to suit ages throughout the school and also a Home/School meeting area. There is also a small ICT suite specifically suited to the younger children.
The North Building provides learning facilities for Y2 to Y6 and has an extensive ICT suite, resource areas and provides a purpose designed Nurture Room.
Both buildings offer improved playground and field areas specifically planned to suit the age ranges taught in each building.
Withernsea Primary works with the Community at different events throughout the year and is in turn well supported by local organisations. There is newly formed Parents group who help in the organisation of some events and we regularly survey our parents, staff and pupils to help evaluate how we can continually enhance the support we provide.
Read the 'About Us' section of the site and our introduction for some more detailed information on the education, opportunities and support we provide.
THE SCHOOL EQUALITY INFORMATION 2011/12 AND ASSOCIATED EQUALITY POLICIES ARE AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING AT THE NORTH BUILDING OFFICE.
