 Visit to Ecuador February 2007


 Otto Sharnow School
Otto Sharnow School is in small village in the Cayambe province and is supported by the local indigenous community and the Ecuadorian state pays only four teachers. There are around 200 children (including an infants school). They have in total 8 teachers and 2 for the infant school. Some of the teachers are paid by the local hacienda and others by the local rose growers.The School is on the equator.

 Cotopaxi

Ecuador- a land of Volcanoes!

 On the last day of my visit I had the opportunity to climb above the snowline on Cotopaxi - a fantastic experience
